If these four walls could talk,
they could ruin me.
They could have others lives, including mine, changed forever.
Many secrets have been shared between these walls,
only to have the walls be the barrior of the sound,
absorbing everything, waiting for a moment to share it all.
These four walls could point out all my flaws, better than I could.
They can see things at all angles,
when I only see straight ahead.
These four walls have seen smiles, tears, laughter, and insecurity.
If these four walls could talk,
they would be my enemy.

  1. Julie, I absolutely LOVE this poem. Oh my, it is so lovely. I just love everything about it. The opening line "If these four walls could talk,
they could ruin me" is so beautiful in the aspect of the secrets the walls withhold. Great job, I love it!

  2. I loved the idea of this piece about walls holding secrets that could ruin you. Its very true! :) I also like how you personified the walls, 'these four walls have seen smiles, tears, laughter, and insecurity.' The last line was my favorite!! :)

  3. The first line really captured my attention "If these four walls could talk, they could ruin me." Very clever. I think for almost everyone, if walls could talk, it could ruin them with their secrets. I liked this poem a lot. It holds a great amount of meaning. Very well written too :)
